PASHMINA JEWELS completes a trilogy of works, after WOVEN MASTERPIECES OF SIKH HERITAGE, 2010, and THE KASHMIR SHAWL AND ITS INDO-FRENCH INFLUENCE, 1997, focused on the study of the Kashmir shawl and its pattern development, origins and evolution across three centuries. One of the key threads that runs through all three volumes is the emphasis on the Sikh school of design against the backdrop of the Punjab’s Khalsa culture and the region’s rule by Maharaja Runjit Singh.
